Next to my desk, I have a beautiful illustration by English artist Rosie Harbottle. It’s called the arrival of spring and portrays a white horse carrying a huge red-chequered vase of yellow daffodils. When my friends see it, many of them say “that’s so you”.
This art brings me happiness every morning as I sit at my desk with a cup of tea and a determination to conquer the day ahead. I love its vibrant colours, its playfulness and its depiction of nature.
Spring has always been my favourite season of the year. There’s just something about nature finally emerging from its long seasonal slumber that brings hope and happiness. Especially living in Geneva, spring means the arrival of new baby swans, the cutest little grey fluffy birds. Every year, pictures and videos of these cuties completely take over my phone.
You can just see how everyone’s energy changes as the days get longer. The air feels lighter, life a little bit sweeter.
Also did I mention I was a spring baby?
So I felt that launching my new platform on the first day of Spring was actually quite fitting. A treasured space to explore topics that fascinate and intrigue me. A way to further develop my sense of wonder, discover new things and build an authentic life one experience at a time.
Oscar Wilde once said, if you know exactly what you want to be in life, you will become it; and that is your punishment.
Knowing where I’ll be in 30 or 40 years isn’t something that excites me at all. As I am getting older, I can already see the many versions of myself I have outgrown. Now at thirty years old, I want to continue to reinvent myself.
Pursuing the things that light me up
Shedding what no longer serves me.
Unapologetically becoming my true self.
I created this platform to share my discoveries, epiphanies and occasional screw-ups (hopefully not too many of those) with you on this journey. Maybe also a little bit as a way to keep myself accountable.
Over here, we’ll be talking about self-discovery, spirituality, creativity, books, wellbeing and all kinds of beautiful things.
In an era of short video content, I feel the need to share long articles. A little space of my own to write in a way that feels the most aligned.
I am so excited to be embarking on this journey with you.
A new season of discoveries awaits.
